Red double-bound Telecaster Stolen in Jasckon, MS. June 24th

Looks like this one was lent to a friend and then stolen from that friends house. It is about ’87, MIJ, double-bound, brass saddles, rosewood board, (with an “A-” serial number on bridgeplate only). Also stolen the friends blacked-out FrankenStrat with 3 P-90s. More detail on the Telecaster forum here.

Left handed Alvarez Yairi Classical Guitar Stolen in Vancouver

A spate of left handed guitars being stolen. Following on from the Strings Direct theft last week this one is an individual theft. More details on Craigslist.

Good News Story

* Phosphorescent recover their gear

Last Sunday we carried the report of Brooklyn band Phosphorescent who had a van load of gear stolen. Yesterday that van, along with the band’s equipment, was recovered today by the police. You can read the report on cjm here.

Update – list of guitars with serial numbers stolen from Strings Direct

On Friday 9th we posted about the theft of £25,000 worth of guitars from Strings Direct in the UK.

Music Radar have just published a full list of the instruments, together with the serial numbers where available. We would not usually take the full contents of an article and reproduce it in this way – however we are hoping in the circumstances that Matthew Parker does not mind.

National Guitar stolen – inscribed with Roy

From The Herald Recorder site this could have happened a month or two ago. A spate of home robberies included “old National Guitar with “Roy” inscribed in the pick plate” More here.

MTD Kingston ZX LTD #31, SERIAL#:07100177 – stolen in Burlington, ON (Canada)

This one was left in by the owner for a repair and the store suffered a break-in. More detail on Talkbass herebut no photos unfortunately.

Burgundy Gibson Les Paul Studio stolen from studio (update)

Albuquerque based based The James Douglas Show had the above stolen while they were on tour. No additional details available but their FB post is here.

Black Fernandes four-string bass stolen from car

This happened in Chicago and the Fernandes has an EMG soap bar pickup. Brief details from the police report here.

From a car parked outside a house in Decatur Georgia. Most of the gear has been recovered but the owner is still looking for his 5 string back. A photo helps:

SCHERZER 10-string guitar Reproduction – either lost or stolen in transit

From a UK luthier Gary Southwell this one was dispatched, but never arrived to its owner in New Jersey. Speculation in the thread that it could have been seized at customs because of the Lacey Act. Read it in full here.

New York band Phosphorescent have their gear stolen post-gig

Another van theft – this time in Brooklyn, NY. A van load of stuff stolen – including a 1955 Gibson ES-125 guitar. You can see the full listing on the Freewilliamsburg site here.

Guitars and more stolen from working musicians cars

Another one from Facebook – this time uptownmusic.biz have a post on their wall. Losses include a Rickenbacker 12 string electric left-handed and a Gibson Les Paul.

73 Emmons Push stolen in Greepoint, NYC

No photos or serial no but “SD-10 black with brass fingers and a red heart sticker on it”. More and contact details here.

Fender Strat Mexico-made 90s Blue

This one was stolen from its owner in Seattle – craigslist here.

RED Stratocaster stolen in San Fran

2000 Fender American Deluxe Jazz Bass serial # DZ006924

No photo here but a serial number which will help with identification. Lots of additional detail as well, stolen in Calgary. $500 reward offered. More on talkbass forum.

17 left-handed guitars stolen from Holiday Music

This one happened in Rochford, UK with a store (www.stringsdirect.co.uk) being broken into and 17 left-handed guitars being stolen. You can see a full listing and more details here.

Guitar recovered in Asheville Montford

A lucky break for this guitar owner in North Carolina – having had a guitar stolen from his car (along with other valuables) the culprit was subsequently arrested and the instrument recovered! Read it here.

Eimers Stochelo Rosenberg guitar stolen from a tent

Someone attending the 31st Django Reinhardt Festival in France had their guitar taken from them. Made by Leo Eimers it should not be difficult to identify and the serial number is given – SRSM-C09. More on the DjangoBooks forum.

Hello Kitty Fender Stratocaster stolen from a house in Van Nuys

Until Recently, I played a beautiful Washburn XB925. I’ve had it for 11 years and through many bands. It was stolen from me on Friday May 7, so if any of you see an xb925 with a natural finish, gold hardware and a birdseye maple top on the market
