Thanks to Monica Myhre who left details on a comment of the gear stolen from herself and the Dave Weld band in Chicago last weekend.
This is her comment in full:
The bands gear was stolen last weekend in Chicago. Dave Weld lost his Blackknife Modulus Guitar that he’s had for more thatn 30 years, it’s been around the world with him. Brand new in the box Line 6 wireless unit for my guitar and a Sure wireless unit. Also a Valley Arts custom guitar, from the late Art Martinez which has a lot of sentimental value to me (His name is engraved on the back of the neck on a gold plate, cymbals, mics, mic cords, power cables and the list goes on….If anyone sees anything on the street, pawn shop or in the clubs please call the police or contact me at this site or email: dv_ weld@ yahoo.com. It’s time to fight against those who prey upon musicians. Things are really tuff on blues musicians, especially if this is all you do for a living. The guys and I don’t have a day job to fall back on, this is all we do….Below are pictures of both guitars. Please keep a look out for them..

Good New!!! We have found Dave’s BlackKnife Modulus Guitar. Dave Weld has found his guitar. Saturday he got an anonymous phone call telling him that his guitar was hanging at a pawnshop downtown Chicago. The caller said that he had seen it on the internet. It was an immediate drive to the pawn shop! We asked to see the guitar hanging and it hasn’t left Dave’s side since. He’s got one back, no case but the guitar is back where it belongs! Thank you to whoever called. For all of you who have had your gear stolen, I highly recommend that you keep advertising your stolen gear on the internet, because someone is bound to see it and hopefully they will call you too! Of course we are still missing the Valley Arts Guitar and all our other gear, but at least Dave has his 30+ guitar back! Thank you dbTwang!

More news on the stolen equipment in August. We were lucky to get a tip on Dave’s Blackknife Modulus Guitar and he now has it back, but we are still looking for my Valley Arts Guitar that was also stolen along with Dave’s Line 6 and all our mics, cords etc. The Blackknife Modulus…turned up at the Royal Pawn Shop, downtown Chicago. We now have the name of the person who brought in the stolen stuff. Hope you get whats coming to you! The Valley Arts Guitar Serial
#VAQ1310 or VAO1310 the Line 6 Model #G90 Serial #21MRROM6016002745. The Valley Arts guitar was purchased from Royal Pawn August 2nd and then sold to someone between August 2nd through November. The Valley Arts Guitar belonged to my deceased fiance’. He was killed in an auto accident that we were in after leaving a gig in January 2001. This was a gift to me and has a lot of sentimental value. It is all that I have. If you purchased the guitar please call 773-494-0283. We will buy it from you. Please return these stolen items.
