Stolen Guitar Reports

* 2001 Gibson SG Standard, Hemet, CA

Has a coil tap switch in the middle of the volume and tone knobs and comes with 500T & 496R pups. Color is Heritage Cherry.

* Mason Custom Strat stolen, Culver/Humbolt area

* 2001 Fender American Series Fat Stratocaster

“Guitar was in a Grey tweed fender/G&G case. The guitar itself was sienna sunburst (looks like a cherry burst) with a very unique grain pattern, guitar had a Maple neck. The guitar has a velvet backguard on
…the backside of the guitar to prevent buckle rash.”

The Craigslist posting has expired so no word on whether it was recovered

* Gibson Songmaker Dreadnaught

Stolen Guitar Alerts

* Brown Fender copy stolen – Sacramento

It is a brown Fender copy hollowed out in the back; red pickups; in a beat up old fender case. $1,000 reward offered. More on Craigslist here.

* Red double-bound Telecaster stolen – Jackson, MS

About ’87, MIJ, double-bound, brass saddles, rosewood ‘board, with an “A-” serial number on bridgeplate only. Check out the forum post here.

* 2001 Fender American Series – Boston

In a Nylon gig bag “Daddy’s Junky Music”.

* 73 Stratocaster Stolen – Vancouver

Jason Buie is a Canadian musician and his Strat (signed by Albert Collins, Buddy Guy, Jimmie Vaughan, and Otis 
Rush) was stolen from his house. This clip is of a similar guitar.

Stolen Guitars

* Red Gibson SG stolen, El Centro, California

This is a particularly sad one – with their son Edmund Gutierrez only dead two weeks his parents find the house broken into last Thursday and his guitar stolen. More here from the local newspaper site.

* Martin Acoustic guitar stolen, Kansas

A short report of a rosewood Martin with sprucewood top stolen from a storage cabinet behind the front desk at Ramada Hotel. See the report here.

* Red Gibson ES335 stolen, Minnesota

Another red Gibson, this time taken from the Minnesota Black Music Awards and owned by Josh Peterson. The post is here.

* Duff McKagan white signature Fender Bass guitar stolen in Belfast

Ray Haller of the bands Sweet Savage/Rough Diamonds had this stolen last night.

Worth stg3,000 it was taken on Habershon Street, Splott. More from the Guardian site.

* Killer Prime stolen in LA

Red double-bound Telecaster Stolen in Jasckon, MS. June 24th

Looks like this one was lent to a friend and then stolen from that friends house. It is about ’87, MIJ, double-bound, brass saddles, rosewood board, (with an “A-” serial number on bridgeplate only). Also stolen the friends blacked-out FrankenStrat with 3 P-90s. More detail on the Telecaster forum here.

Left handed Alvarez Yairi Classical Guitar Stolen in Vancouver

A spate of left handed guitars being stolen. Following on from the Strings Direct theft last week this one is an individual theft. More details on Craigslist.

Good News Story

* Phosphorescent recover their gear

Last Sunday we carried the report of Brooklyn band Phosphorescent who had a van load of gear stolen. Yesterday that van, along with the band’s equipment, was recovered today by the police. You can read the report on cjm here.

On Friday 9th we posted about the theft of £25,000 worth of guitars from Strings Direct in the UK.
